The ten Division 1 Dallas Classic League byes for fall 2009 have been decided following last night's DFW Tejanos 1-0 win over Dallas Texans Red at Richland College. Solar 98 ran away with the Grand Championship this year going a perfect 19-0-0 with a whopping 91-3 goal differential. Dallas Texans 98 claimed 2nd while Andromeda took 3rd and FC Dallas 4th. A pair of smaller clubs grabbed the 5 & 6 spots as Dallas Tigres and Pumas Elite had wonderful years. Revolution, Solar Red and Real Madrid rounded out the top 9. The real drama of the spring came in the fight for the 10th and final bye position. Three teams all finished within a point of each other in the battle and it came down to the very last game of the year to decide. The DFW Tejanos 98 squad grabbed a goal midway through the 2nd half last night to defeat Dallas Texans Red and move to 26 points on the year. They finished tied with Club Classic for 10th but won the final bye position with a better goal differential. The DFW Tejanos 98s went on a late season run of 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 games to jump up in the standings. The 11-18th placed teams will go to Division 2 for Under 12 while ASG Gold West and Lake Highlands United will fall to Division 3. ASG Gold North and Longhorns will be promoted to Division 2.
