A look at some High School district races
Published 2/22/2007 1:11:00 PM by SoccerXpert from Dallas, Texas
Approaching the halfway point in the high school district schedule we take a look at some of the boys playoff races developing in North Texas. District 5-5A Keller Central 4-1-1 Keller 3-1-2 Grapevine 3-2-1 Southlake 3-2-1 Northwest 3-2-1 A very tight race with 5 teams within 1 game of each other. A suddenly hot Grapevine squad, a talented Keller Central and an underachieving Southlake group.
District 6-5A Coppell 6-0-0 FM Marcus 6-0-0 Flower Mound 3-2-1 Hebron 3-3-0 The game of the week in North Texas tomorrow has FM Marcus hosting Coppell for the district lead.
District 7-5A Jesuit 6-0-0 S Grand Prairie 3-1-2 Trinity 3-2-1 Grand Prairie 2-2-2 LD Bell 2-3-1 Irving 2-3-1 Jesuit is running away with the district. The real fight is for 2nd and 3rd with no clear favorite as of yet.
District 8-5A Duncanville 6-1-0 Arlington 5-2-0 Arlington Martin 4-1-2 Arlington Bowie 4-3-0 Sam Houston 3-3-1 Duncanville holds the top spot but both Martin and Arligton are still in the chase. Can Martin get all that talent gelled into a team? Martin faces Sam Houston tomorrow in a make or break game for Sam Houston.
District 9-5A Plano 6-0-0 Allen 5-1-0 Plano East 5-1-0 Lake Highlands 3-3-0 Looks like a 3 team race in a tough district. Allen's next two games will go along way to determining their season as they face Plano and Plano East.
District 5-4A Boswell 6-1-0 Denton 6-1-0 Fossil Ridge 4-2-1 Denton Guyer 3-3-1 Boswell's win over Denton on Tuesday pulled the two teams into a tie for the district lead. Don't count out Fossil, but they will have to rebound from a recent droppoff.
District 9-4A Midlothian 7-0-0 Crowley 5-1-1 Arlington Seguin 4-2-1 Midlothian is clearly the class of the district and have the potential to make a run deep into the playoffs. Crowley is solid as usual with SMU signee Jonathan Lester in goal.
