North Texas Womens Soccer Update
Published 10/27/2006 8:21:43 AM by SoccerXpert Staff from Dallas, Texas U.S.A.
The UNT girls soccer team has quietly put together a solid season under coach John Hedlund. UNT currently sits at 13-3-2 on the year and 9-1-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. The girls close the regular season tonight with a road game at University of Denver. Denver is currently unbeaten in conference at 10-0 and has rolled through conference play so far averaging over 5 goals a game. After the Denver game UNT then heads to Louisiana for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament where the winner gets an automatic berth into the NCAA playoffs. The question is can UNT get an at-large NCAA berth without winning the Sun Belt Tournament. They dont really have any eye popping wins on the year. A solid 0-0 draw with nationally ranked SMU is their best result to date. A road win over a quality Denver side would help alot though. UNT is led by in scoring by junior forward Heather Hutrya of Benbrook and freshman Kendall Juett from Carrolton.
