SMU Takes Care of Memphis 3-0
Published 10/23/2006 12:06:24 PM by SoccerXpert Staff from Dallas, Texas U.S.A.
The #1 ranked SMU mens soccer team went to Memphis Saturday and came away with a convincing 3-0 win. With the win SMU improves to 14-0-3 on the year. Injuries have been mounting of late for SMU, especially at the forward position where Scott Geppart has been lost to a knee injury and Paulo de Silva has also been nursing injury. Richard Oliva has moved into the starting lineup with Adrian Chevannes up top but the offense came from the midfield against Memphis with Chase Wileman netting a pair and Ryan Miersky connecting for his first goal of the season. Matt Wideman notched his 11th shutout of the season also in the win. SMU has games remaining with Alabama-Birmingham and Marshall left on their schedule before heading to Tulsa for the Conference USA Tournament in early November.
