Andromeda 90 Boys defeat Cisco Toros at Nationals

The Andromeda 90 boys grabbed a much needed victory in their charge for a repeat today as they moved into a first place tie in the group.  Coach Oscar Borgarello had a good scouting report on the Cisco Toros, and his team executed to near perfection scoring three goals in the first 25 minutes of the game en route to a 4-0 victory.  Just five minutes into the game Andromeda took charge when a good move from the back left the ball with Luke Joyner, and he found Zachary Funk running through.  Funk  ripped the ball into the net to put his team ahead early.

After a draw in yesterday's game Andromeda were not about to let this one slip away and they would strike again less than 10 minutes in.  Jochen Graff fought his way through the defense for a breakaway and slotted the ball far post to give the Texas side a 2 goal lead.  Cisco seemed to loose any will to press on before halftime when Taylor Cuff gathered a ball worked across the field and capitalized on a hard shot to go up 3 just 25 minutes into the game.  The Toros began to sub liberally indicating their energy may be better saved for tomorrow as a loss would not end their hopes of reaching the final.

With 20 minutes left in the game Andromeda would snatch one more after some good passing left Eric Frazier alone at the far post.  Frazier buried his chance, and Andromeda picked up momentum with a 4-0 victory.
