Dallas Classic League kicks off the 2009 spring season this weekend for the U11 to U14 age groups. The older age groups will resume play with an abbreviated spring session after the high school season finishes. Battles are to be had at every age as teams fight for championships, seek promotion and fight against relegation across the age groups. The most unpredictable of course are the U11s where a winter of indoor and practices make a huge difference. Many teams come out much improved for the spring seasons, while others get the benefit of a softer schedule. Solar 98 and Dallas Texans 98 have showed to be the cream of the crop after both cruised to undefeated falls and sit 5 points above the 3rd place Pumas Elite squad. Solar has a decided advantage in goal differential leading Texans by a whopping 27 goals. The real fight will be for the coveted 8-9-10 spots which hold D1 byes for next year. It will be a real battle as the 8-14 positions are only separated by 4 points and will definitely come down to the final weekend. At under 12, FC Dallas and Dallas Texans Red South are on top with FC Dallas ahead by a single point. FC Dallas claimed a 2-0 win in the fall matchup. Dallas Texans Red sit 3 points behind South. Dallas Tigres try to get out of the relegation zone and they picked up some new players to bolster their squad for the spring. They'll try to catch Dallas Texans West and Solar Red which they are within 2 and 3 points of respectively. There will be a real battle in division 2 for the promotion as DFW Tejanos lead TFC Royal by a point after the fall. DFW Tejanos defeated TFC 2-1 in the fall. At the U13 age, Dallas Texans went a perfect 9-0-0 and have a solid 5 point lead over FC Dallas Youth. Solar sits 1 point behind FC Dallas. After those three there is a real logjam as the next five teams are all within 2 points of each other. Club Classic and Andromeda have alot of work to do to avoid relegation. Dallas Texans South and Dallas Texans West look comfortable for promotion up from D2. The 95s are a two team race as Dallas Texans and Solar Red are fighting it out for the grand championship. Texans currently lead by a point. There is a ten point gap to the next five teams in the division, but those five teams are all within a point of each other. The race for 3rd will be a monster battle. It looks like ASG Gold and Dallas Texans East are going down.
