The SMU mens team dropped a pair of games in New Mexico over the weekend losing to defending national champions UC Santa Barbara and Washington.  The SMU women lost to Arizona State and battled to a draw with Texas Tech.  In Fort Worth, the TCU women also lost to Arizona State while defeating Texas Tech 2-1.

SMU men --
The men headed to New Mexico for their first road trip of the season and a rematch with last years national champions UC Santa Barbara.  UCSB knocked SMU out of last years playoffs.  Santa Barbara got on the board first but Dane Saintus equalized late to send the game to overtime.  In overtime UCSB scored the winner in the 97th minute as UCSB dropped SMU once again.  On Sunday a strong Washington, which has been moving up the national rankings, awaited.  The game was scoreless in the first half, but Washington notched a pair of second half goals to win 2-0.  SMU next faces Centenary Thursday night and Oral Roberts on Saturday evening.

SMU women --
The SMU women put their undefeated record on the line Friday night when they hosted  Arizona State.   Senior Kimber Bailey earned a penalty kick in the 1st minute to put SMU up 1-0.  The lead would stand until the 2nd half when Arizona State exploded for 4 goals to win 4-1.  The women bounced back on Sunday as they battled Texas Tech to a 0-0 draw.  Crosstown rival TCU visits on Friday night.

TCU women --
The TCU women opened the weekend with an exciting match against Texas Tech in Fort Worth.  Jackie Torda opened the scoring for TCU and Michelle Nguyen added the second as TCU won 2-1.  Sunday presented a stiffer test as a strong Arizona State squad arrived.  ASU scored a goal in each half and went on to win 2-0.

North Texas women --
North Texas improved to 6-0-0 on the year with convincing wins over Texas State and Grambling this weekend.  The women travel to Oklahoma for their first real test of the year on Friday before heading to Long Beach State for a match on Sunday.
