It's Crunch Time for FC Dallas

The time is now.  Only four matches remain in the 2012 MLS season and FC Dallas trails Vancouver Whitecaps by 2 points in the race for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

It is pretty amazing that the word playoff can be put in the same sentence with FC Dallas in the first place.  Few can forget the record futility this team suffered through this summer as they failed to win in a club record 13 games.  The team have clawed their way back from an 11 point deficit in only a months time.

"I have a dream. And the dream is to be in the playoffs,” Coach Schellas Hyndman said. “I think the guys all have a dream that we have four games and even though we’re two points behind anything can happen in this league.”

It won't be easy though.  Three of the final four are on the road including killer trips to San Jose and the Seattle Sounders.  They also have a home and home remaining against Chivas in which they must have all 6 points.

Vancouver's schedule is a bit more friendly.  Three home matches remain.  They host a solid Seattle FC side, then Chivas USA and finally Portland before closing the season at Real Salt Lake.  Clear advantage to Vancouver, but anything is possible after where FC Dallas has come from this season.
