Remaining Dallas squads eliminated from Dallas Cup XXXI

The remaining three Dallas sides with hopes of winning a Dallas Cup XXXI title were all eliminated in semifinal play. TFC 94, Dallas Texans U16 Academy and Solar U18 Academy with none of the three able to manage a goal in shutout losses. This will mark the first time since 2007 that a Dallas team will not claim a title at the pretigous tournament and only the second time in the last seven Dallas Cups. Looks like further proof that the Academy system is not producing better talent. It is just watering down what was once the most talented and competetive league in the USA outside of SoCal. In U16 play, TFC were beaten soundly by the Houston Dynamo who claimed a 3-0 victory. The Houston Dynamo faces Santa Clara Sporting of California in todays U16 championship. The Dallas Texans U18 Academy gave away two early goals to Mexican side CF Monterrey and were never able to recover as CF Monterrey cruised to a 2-0 victory. CF Monterrey will play rival Mexican side Tigres in what should be a very entertaining championship match. The Solar U18 Academy were crushed by a very talented squad from Panama. Chorillo of Panama won 3-0 and will face Shattuck St Mary's of Minnesota in today's Under 19 Dallas Cup XXXI final.
