The Dallas sides fared well on the opening day of Dallas Cup XXXI.  The U13s swept all four matches in fact.  Even though both FC Dallas U18 Academy and the Dallas Texans U18 Academy lost their Super Group matches they competed well with powers Chelsea and Tottenham from England.

In U13 play all four Dallas sides were victorious over Mexican teams.  Dallas Texans South won 1-0 over Tigres while Dallas Texans and Andromeda won 1-0 decisions over Club Mana and Pumas respectively.  FC Dallas crushed Monterrey 4-1.  All four teams play again on Monday.

The U14 Dallas teams were just as successful winning all five of their games.  Each team won by two goals.  Tougher matches await though as Dallas Texans face DeAnza Force on Monday while FC Dallas plays Pateadores.  Solar has a very difficult matchup with LA FC.

In U15 play, FC Dallas ran into a powerful Eintracht Frankfurt team from Germany losing 4-0.  The Germans have to be considered a favorite to win the title after that performance.  Solar and Solar Red were victorious while Dallas Texans tied 2-2 with Monterrey.

The Under 16s were not nearly as impressive in their openers.  Only Solar Red was able to get a win.  Dallas Texans 94 were disappointing in their 1-1 draw with Oakville of Canada while TFC could only muster a scoreless draw with Monterrey.

The U17s from Dallas put in a mixed performance in their openers.  Both Dallas Texans sides won convincingly while Andromeda also notched a tight 4-3 win over Alajuelense.  Solar and Dallas Texans West lost with Texans West getting spanked 4-1 by Monterrey.

Finally in U19 play the results were not good.  Only the Andromeda Academy was able to grab a win on the day.  Solar scraped out a 2-2 draw with Lewisham College of England.   TFC and AYSES both got crunched in multiple goal losses while Gators fell 1-0 to Ikapa of South Africa.

It looks like the Dallas torch for Dallas Cup XXXI will need to be carried by the younger ages this year unless some of the older teams can put together better results on Monday.
