Dallas Cup - U15s from North Texas a mixed bag so far

It has definitely been a mixed bag so far for the north Texas squads playing in Dallas Cup XXXV.  Through 14 games the seven teams are a respectable 6-6-2.  Only FC Dallas 99 Premier has won both their games while Solar Red and FC Dallas U14 Academy have a win and draw.  Meanwhile, both Dallas Texans South and Solar Chelsea Academy have lost both of their matches thus far.

The FC Dallas U14 Academy had the poor luck of being drawn into the group with Eintracht Frankfurt.  The German side has blasted all comers beating FC Dallas 4-0 and then a poor Arizona squad 8-0.  The Eintracht kids look more like 16 yr olds rather then U14s truthfully.  They are huge and are the clear favorites to win the title.

FC Dallas Premier sit atop Group B along with the Colorado Rapids.  The two teams will battle it out Wednesday for the top spot in the group and a place in the quarterfinals.  The Rapids have a better goal differential so a draw will win them the group.  A win or draw would be enough to see FC Dallas Premier through as either group winner or a wildcard.

The Dallas Texans Academy are on 4 points so far with a win and a draw.  They trail leaders LVSA from Nevada who have won both their games so far.  Dallas Texans can win the group by beating LVSA tomorrow.  Anything else and they will be out of the tournament.

Solar Chelsea and the Dallas Texans South have been blasted so far in groups D & E.  Neither have anything but losses to show from their four games so far and they are a combined -10 in goal differential.  They'll both have chances for consolation wins tomorrow evening.

Solar Red 99 are tied at the top of group G with Chivas.  The two teams tied 2-2 on Sunday so it will come down to who wins by a bigger margin on Wednesday to decide it.  Solar Chelsea looks to have an easier game on Wednesday with last placed Herndon Youth of Virginia.

Finally the Andromeda Academy squad is looking at elimination as well after being crushed by Pateadores 5-0 yesterday.  They will need to beat the Seattle Sounders tomorrow and hope for a big upset against Pateadores to have any chance.  Even so the goal differential looks to big to overcome anyway.

The quarterfinal knockout round takes place Thursday afternoon at Richland College.  Can anyone beat the talented and athletic boys from Eintracht Frankfurt?
