With only two games left to play District 4-5A is still up for grabs.  The four playoff spots for the district are all wrapped up belonging to Southlake, Keller Central, Keller and Richland.

However, the race is so very tight that any of the four could take the title and any of the four could easily finish 4th. It is just that close.

Southlake Carroll moved into the drivers seat thanks to a 1-0 win over rivals Keller on Monday.  They currently lead the district on 26 points.  Keller and Keller Central follow a point behind on 25 while Richland sits at 24.

Richland and Keller Central battled to a 2-2 draw in a wonderfully entertaining match last Monday.  The teams had the rest of the Spring Break week off and resume with the final week of play next week.

As said earlier, Southlake is in the drivers seat.  They hold the one point lead and close with two matches against lower sides Fossil Ridge and Haltom.  Win out and the title is theirs.  Keller Central has the inside track to 2nd place as they also have two games against lower sides left.  They close with Haltom and Northwest.

There is one big matchup left on the schedule and that will come on the closing night of the season when Richland faces off against Keller.  Richland will need a win to get move up from the 4th seed.

The tight and competitive district race should prepare all four sides well for the pressure of the playoffs.  The district will match up with District 3-5A that features powerful Arlington Sam Houston and Arlington.
