FC Dallas surging towards Trophies

The end is in sight with only six games remaining in the MLS season.  FC Dallas is surging once again as they have opened up a whopping eight point lead over three teams in Real Salt Lake, the LA Galaxy and the Colorado Rapids who all sit on 43 points.  All three have games in hand on Dallas but would still trail FCD even if they won all their games in hand.  In other words, FC Dallas is in a very comfortable position to win the MLS Western Conference.  Things look jsut as comfortable in the race for the Supporters Shield which goes to the team in the entire MLS that finishes with the highest point total.  NYCFC, the Red Bulls and Toronto are in range, but trail by almost three games.  Not going to catch us without an epic collapse from Oscar Pareja's side.

The team is on a roll despite playing in three different competitions currently with only a single loss in the last eleven games in all competitions.  They are also in the finals of the US Open Cup on Tuesday September 13th in Frisco as well as the CONCACAF Champions League.  FCD hosts the Rapids this Saturday in a game in which Dallas could pretty much eliminate Colorado from the title race.

September is going to be a busy month as there are MLS matches against Colorado, NYCFC and RSL on the docket. The US Open Cup final is wedged in between. At the end of the month CD Suchitepequez visits for an importand CONCACAF Champions League game that FCD will need to win to take the group and advance.  So alot of bigtime soccer on the schedule for FC Dallas fans this month as the team surges towards trophies and hopefully a deep run in the MLS playoffs.
