The second take produced the same result as the first.   Severe weather conditions had forced the original game to be abandoned on Wednesday night at halftime. FCD had led 1-0 in that match.  The teams woke up early and started again at 0-0 Thursday morning.  The result was once again 1-0 to Dallas as they took control of CONCACAF Champions League Group C.  FC Dallas are 2-0-0 now in the group while Toronto dropped to 1-1-0. Dallas have also defeated Toronto 1-0 twice in Major League Soccer play this season.

The visitors were poised to take the lead just before halftime as Daniel Hernandez stepped up to take a penalty kick.  He fired a solid strike at goal where Toronto keeper
Milos Kocic guessed correctly making a great save to tip it off the post.  Despite the failed spotkick Dallas would grab the lead just a minute later as little used Jack Stewart headed home a Ugo Ihemulu cross.

Toronto emerged from the break with ideas of going for broke and they attacked with abandon in the second half while FCD sat back and looked to hold onto their slim lead.
The Reds had a splendid chance in the 79th minute when Joao Plata sprung former Dallas player Peri Marosevic in the center of the box. However, goalkeeper Kevin Hartman was up to the task.

Marosevic had an attempt blocked in the center of the box and Torsten Frings forced a save with a shot from outside the box as Toronto began to show some inspiration. But as stoppage time approached, defender Richard Eckersley picked up his second yellow of the game for kicking the ball away, and Toronto were down to 10 men.

The win gives Dallas a stranglehold on the group as they have two wins both on the road.  Next up they'll return home in Champions League play on September 14th to face Tauro FC followed with a huge home match with Pumas.
