FC Dallas did what nobody else in the MLS has done this year as they went into Toronto and earned an impressive 3 points winning 2-0. Not only was Toronto FC unbeaten at home this year, they had only allowed 2 goals over 9 home dates. The first half saw a fast, but even flow as both teams got plenty of attack time. Neither team was able to break through though as FC Dallas keeper Dario Sala made several nice plays to keep Toronto scoreless. The 2nd half would bring much more excitement as the pace remained fast and each team was intent on finding the winning goal. The gamebreaking play occurred in the 80th minute as FC Dallas broke into the attack from their own end. Pablo Richetti picked up the ball and threaded a wonderful ball in behind the Toronto defense that Kenny Cooper ran onto. Richetti continued his run into the penalty area as Toronto midfielder Amando Guevara gave chase. As Guevara caught Richetti he sent a forearm across Richetti's face that sent him to the ground and bloodied his nose. Referee Baldomero Toledo was right on top of the play and immediately whistled stoppage producing a red card for Guevara and awarding FC Dallas a penalty kick. The Toronto FC players protested vehemently and play was stopped for several minutes before order was restored. Kenny Cooper stepped up and clamly slotted home the penalty kick to give FC Dallas the lead. The home fans were in a frenzy as well were the Toronto FC players and coaches. Over the next few minutes, Toronto FC would see Marco Velez sent off for his 2nd yellow as well as the team trainer and an assistant coach also sent to the showers. As the home crowd were heading to the exits Kenny Cooper would add a final insult as he scored from 20 yards out passed the flailing Greg Sutton in the Toronto goal. With the win FC Dallas moves to 25 points and 3rd place in the MLS Western Conference only 2 points behind leaders Real Salt Lake.
