FC Dallas loses once again as streak hits 11

The streak just keeps getting longer.  The FC Dallas winless streak has reached a whopping 11 matches dating back almost 3 entire months.  As the streak lengthens FC Dallas watches their season slip away.  They have fallen all the way from 1st in the MLS Western Conference to a dreadful 7th place.  With only 10 games remaining in the season it is do or die time from here.

All the goals came in the opening half of play.  Portland midfielder Diego Valeri was the supplier for both Timbers goals as her set up Ryan Johnson for the first and Darlington Nagbe for the second.  FC Dallas got a goal from their recent signing Mauro Diaz as he put home a nice pass from Fabian Castillo.

The second half saw Dallas press for the equalizer as they created several chances.  Portland held strong though and saw out the important victory moving them into 3rd place.

Defensively, the team is a disaster.  The team has allowed a whopping 20 goals in their last 10 games.  At some point the coaching staff is going to need to figure out they need a true defensive midfielder on the pitch.  There is no bite at all.

It is the same old story with Schellas Hyndman.  He just doesn't seem to be able to figure out the problems year after year and thus FC Dallas seems destined to miss the MLS playoffs once again despite the fact that over half the league gets a playoff spot.
