FC Dallas and Dallas Texans close with Super Group wins

After dropping their opening two matches of Dallas Cup XXXI Super Group play, both Dallas Texans and FC Dallas closed with wins on the final day of bracket play. After falling to Tottenham Hotspurs of England and Tigres the Dallas Texans rebounded with a solid 3-2 win over the Japan 91/92 National Team on Wednesday evening. The Dallas Texans ended last in Bracket C tied on points with Tigres, but losing goal differential. FC Dallas opened Super Group play with losses to Chelsea and then CF Monterrey. On Wednesday they stepped up and shocked Alajuelense of Costa Rica 2-1. Alajuelense had beaten Chelsea on Monday and had a chance to win the bracket if they could have beaten FC Dallas. FC Dallas ended third in Bracket A which CF Monterrey ended up winning on goal differential over Chelsea.
