FC Dallas faces make or break stretch

The most important stretch of the season awaits FC Dallas.  It is also the most difficult.  Five of the next seven are on the road for FCD as they fight for positioning and a playoff spot in the ultra-tight MLS Western Conference.

Currently, third through sixth are only separated by a single match and two more squads are only two games behind.  Bottom line, if FC Dallas falters in this tough seven game stretch it would not be out of the realm of possibilities to fall all the way to 8th.  They are fourth right now.

It all kicks off on Sunday as Dallas travels to Vancouver for a huge game against the Whitecaps.  Both sides know how important the game is.  Vancouver would jump past FCD with a home win, but Oscar Pareja's troops are unbeaten in their last five MLS games.

After travelling to Vancouver FC Dallas comes home to face Colorado before heading to San Jose.  Another home game with Real Salt Lake is followed by two more road matches at Chicago and RSL.  The return of playmaker Maruo Diaz should provide a huge lift to the squad, but a season ending injury to Hendry Thomas will be costly. How they perform through this tough stretch will go a long way to determining whether FC Dallas will be a factor in the MLS West or sitting home for the playoffs.
