It took six matches, but FC Dallas has their first win of 2010 and it couldn't have come against a better team.  FC Dallas notched their first ever win in Houston against rivals the Dynamo.  It was the perfect rebound from a disappointing draw in New England on the weekend where Dallas had a two man advantage for a long stretch and was unable to capitalize.

The first half in Houston was a quiet affair with neither team troubling the other, but the second half picked up a bit.  Things got tricky in the 72nd minute when FC Dallas went a an down.   Jair Benitez received a straight red card and ejection for elbowing Houston striker Luis Landin in the face.

Just a few minutes later FC Dallas were in front though as Ugo Ihemelu headed home a set piece.  Dax McCarty's kick from about 30 yards out on the right was headed by Brek Shea from the near post to Ihemelu, who headed it in just inside the back post.

Houston went about trying to find the equalizer from there and almost had it late on.  Danny Cruz set up Brad Davis, but it was saved by Kevin Hartman, who made three saves.  Hartman was in goal after Dario Sala was benched after back to back poor performances.

The win still leaves FC Dallas in last place in the Western Conference, but firther jumbled the standings as only three points separate 2nd to 8th.  The LA Galaxy are runaway leaders early on.
