FC Dallas emerged from the World Cup break and grabbed a very important three points on the road winning 2-1 over Chivas USA. Wearing the blue hoops FC Dallas was clearly the better side in the opening half of play and grabbed a deserved lead just before the half. It came off a set piece when Chivas USA defender Ante Jazic accidentally knocked a David Ferreira corner kick into the back of his own net.Despite being down by a goal, it was the Chivas who had the better run of play coming out of the locker room and in the 59th minute they were level. It was a good finish from Osael Romero after a good cross from Mariano Trujillo. It looked like the same ofd story of FC Dallas squandering a lead and settling for a draw. However, Marvin Chavez, who got his first start of 2010 at right mid with Atiba Harris moving up top to replace Jeff Cunningham, did a great job of drawing a penalty kick after Jazic brought him down inside the right edge of the box. Ferreira stepped up and drove home the resulting penalty kick which turned out to be the winner on the night. Dallas now returns home to host Kansas City next Saturday at Pizza Hut Park.
