FC Dallas rallies late to tie Revolution

FC Dallas needed a furious rally to earn a 2-2 draw with the visiting New England Revolution Wednesday night at Pizza Hut Park.  Injuries and suspensions forced FC Dallas to field a depleted lineup for the match and it showed early.  Kevin Hartman, Brek Shea and captain Daniel Hernandez were all out and New England jumped ahead in the 6th minute as Shalrie Joseph scored from close range.

FC Dallas had a chance to even the score, but David Ferreira missed from the penalty spot and the match went 1-0 to halftime.  New England made it 2-0 in the 66th minute when Marko Perovic took advantage of shoddy work out of the back by FCD and slotted a square pass for Ilija Stolica to poke home.

That's when the rally started.  Jeff Cunningham and Eric Avila were introduced for Dallas and the tide began to change.  Another penalty kick for FC Dallas resulted in David Ferriera drawing the game to 2-1.  Then deep into injury time Jeff Cunningham would grab the dramatic equalizer despite the offside protests from New England.  Replays showed the call to be very tight as the game ended 2-2.

The draw pushed the FC Dallas unbeaten streak to a MLS record 16 games.  New England limps home lamenting a game they clearly should have won.
