For much of the evening it looked like much more of same FC Dallas squad we have seen all year.  An own goal from Pablo Richetti gave Columbus a 1-0 halftime lead.  FC Dallas came out strong in the 2nd half and took the game to the visitors searching for the tying goal.  Finally, in the 80th minute it came through Eric Avila who had just entered the game as a substitute.  David Ferreira started the play off by feeding Avila, who bent his shot beautifully, sending it into the right side of the net for the equalizer.

Ferreira would be involved in the winning goal as well. In the 86th, the Colombian playmaker was dribbling towards the Crew goal when Marshall took him down from behind, drawing a yellow and a penalty kick call from referee Terry Vaughn.   Kenny Cooper stepped up to the spot, and after a couple of quick stutter steps, buried it into the left side of the net for his seventh goal of the year, giving FCD a 2-1 edge.

The win was just Dallas's third of the season and now raises their home record to 2-3-3. The club's last win at Pizza Hut Park was more than two months ago when they beat Toronto FC 3-2.
