FC Dallas sunk to their low point in a an already bad season Sunday afternoon with an embarrassing 3-2 loss to the lowly New York Red Bull who were forced to play down a man for 30 minutes due to a red card.

The game started with a flurry as New York got on the board quickly as Juan Pablo Angel notched the opener on only 4 minutes.  It was the first time the Red Bulls had led a match since June 20th.  FC Dallas would answer right back though when Dax McCarty knocked home a Jeff Cunningham cross.

New York would be back on top though just minutes later through Dane Richards and they would ride that lead into the 2nd half.  In the 60th minute Kevin Goldwaithe took exception to Andre Rocha holding him on a set piece.  Goldwaithe fired a punch and was immediately sent off by the referee leaving the Red Bulls to play 30 minutes shorthanded.

FC Dallas would take advantage and even the match as Dave van den Bergh rifled a shot into the far right corner of the net with a beautiful curl in the 72nd minute.  At that point most felt the only question was would FC Dallas find the winner.  Instead, it was the New York Red Bulls that found glory.  With only 2 minutes left Mac Kandi dribbled inside from the left sideline and fired a shot at the Dallas goal.  Dario Sala made the save but left a fat rebound right in front that Juan Pablo Angel drifted in and put away for the winner.  It was the first win since May 8th for New York Red Bull and an embarrassing loss for FC Dallas.

"It was good win for Red Bull, and a crap game for FC Dallas," the coach said.   "Having a one man advantage, we attacked," Hyndman explained. "They sat back and bunkered in. We scored a goal -- Dave scored a great goal -- and then we went with the attitude of winning the game because we were up a man. We just didn't take care of our responsibilities coming back and defending."
