George John returns to FC Dallas after Blackburn transfer falls through

FC Dallas received a shot in the arm this morning as word is that stud centerback George John is returning to the team after his expected transfer to English Premier League side Blackburn has fallen through. It was expected John was headed to England as both sides seemed interested.

'Blackburn had significant interest in acquiring George; however, for the time being, they decided not to finalise the deal. We are excited to have a player of George's calibre back at FC Dallas.''

It will be welcomed news for an FC Dallas side scrambling to replace a team leader at a vital position. The team rallied for a dramatic win on Saturday in Kansas City, but the void in the middle of defense was evident as the team gave up a pair of goals in the match.

George John's return sets FC Dallas up nicely for a solid playoff run as well as a deep run into the CONCACAF Champions League.
