George John signs to join West Ham on loan leaving FC Dallas

FC Dallas central defender George John has agreed to join West Ham on short term loan with an option to buy. West Ham currently plays in the Championship division in England which is the league just below the English Premier League. West Ham currently sits 2nd in the league and is looking for promotion back into the EPL for next year.

George John has been rumoured to be heading for Europe for months. He almost left FC Dallas in the summer transfer window, but wasn't able to complete a deal until the window closed. John has some ankle and knee injury issues, but if he can stay healthy he could work his way into the US National Team plans going forward.

No question this is a heavy loss for FC Dallas who have been preparing for his departure. FCD recently signed Colombian defender Hernan Pertuz and then took North Carolina centerback Matt Hedges in the 2012 MLS Superdraft.
