District 5-6A roundup - Guyer and Byron only unbeatens

Matchday 2 of the 2015 district season is in the books and new boys Denton Guyer and Byron Nelson moved to the top of the standings.  They are the only two squads with a clean record after two matchdays.  Meanwhile, Denton Ryan and Northwest fell to 0-2 and face an uphill climb to get to a playoff berth.  Four schools sit in a logjam at three points and will get a chance to differentiate themselves this week.

Byron Nelson 2  Denton Ryan 0
Tanner Burns and Cole McPherson notched the goals as Byron Nelson moved to 9-1-1 on the year and moved to the top of the district standings.  A big match at Keller looms on Tuesday.

Denton Guyer 1  Northwest 0
The Wildcats posted their another shutout as they beat Northwest 1-0.  Gabe Harding got the winner off an assist from Collin Christian.  Northwest gave a much better effort after their opening pasting to Fossil Ridge, but were unable to get a result.

Keller 2  Keller Central 1
The rivalry game of the week saw Keller go to Central and grab a 2-1 victory.  The Indians jumped out to a 2-0 lead and despite and Evan Ripic goal Central could not complete the rally.

Timber Creek 1  Fossil Ridge 0
A late goal from Mitchell Meisinger was the difference as Timber Creek pulled the upset at Fossill Ridge.  Shemar Smith notched the assist on the winner.
