On the west side of the metroplex the final full weekend of the high school soccer regular season has plenty of drama and everything to play for to finalize which teams will advance to playoff soccer.   Unfortunately the widespread rain of the last few days will affect some of the matches.  Hopefully most of the important games can be moved to Saturday when the weather is supposed to be drier and warmer.

In District 3-5A it is wide open as five teams are all within a game of each other.  Nobody has been able to emerge as the class of the district.  Richland and Weatherford both sit on 7 wins while Abilene, Paschal and Burleson all have 6 wins.  Tonite Abilene must make the long trip to face Richland and Weatherford travels to North Crowley.  The hottest team in the district lately has been Paschal who travel to Burleson.

In District 4-5A Sam Houston and Martin are clinched for the playoffs.  Sam has the district title clinched.  Mansfield and Arlington are fighting it out for the 3rd seed, though both are already in the playoffs.  Arlington travels to Mansfield where a Mansfield win or draw give them the 3rd seed.

District 5-5A has Keller clinched as champions and looking to be major factors in the playoffs.  Keller Central can wrap up 2nd tonight with a home result against last place Northwest HS.  Grapevine needs a Central slipup, but otherwise has the 3rd seed locked.  Fossil Ridge and LD Bell are fighting it out for the last playoff position.  Bell needs a Fossil loss to Keller and then must beat rivals Trinity tonight to force a 4th place tie.

The highly competetive 6-5A has spent the last few weeks beating up on each other and jockeying for position.  Marcus is on top with 21 points while Coppel sits just behind on 19.  Carroll is 3rd on 16 while Hebron is locked into 4th.  Look for all four teams to make waves in the playoffs.

On the girls side, Paschall has been the class of District 3-5A all season long with the title never in doubt.  Weatherford and Abilene both have 6 wins while North Crowley has 5. North Crowley must win in Weatherford to move out of the 4th seed.  Abilene hosts Richland and should win.

Martin has 4-5A clinched going unbeaten through the district heading into tonite.  Lamar has 2nd wrapped up while Summit and Arlington are tied for th 3rd seed.  Summit travels to Bowie while Arlington visits Mansfield tonight.

District 5-5A has been very competetive as usual.  Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine are tied for first place with 29 points each.  They will face off for the district soccer title tonite.  Trinity has had a very solid season losing only once in district play, but suffering five ties to put them in third.  Keller has 4th place wrapped up.

The top 3 in District 6-5A are very tight with Hebron holding onto the top spot with 20 points.  Coppell is right behind them on 17 followed by Marcus with 16.  Carroll and Flower Mound are fighting for the last playoff spot with Carroll holding a slim 1 point lead.
