The 2009 high school soccer playoffs hit the ground running on Tuesday night with several entertaining games across the metroplex.  The big boys pretty much all advanced and District 6-5A showed the power that they have been known to have all season.

In Region I
District 6-5A swept all four matches from 5-5A on Tuesday night.  Coppell used four 2nd half goals to break a scoreless halftime tie with Grapevine while defending champs Marcus smashed Fossil Ridge.  Southlake had a tougher time with Keller Central advancing after a shootout and same was true for Hebron as they took out Keller.  Top ranked Jesuit missed some chances but still walked away 2-0 winners over Irving while Sam Houston continued their good run with a 6-2 win over Paschal.

The next round holds several enticing matchups.  None bigger than the Southlake - Jesuit matchup.  Hebron and Plano is another bigtime game as well as McKinney Boyd - Marcus and Coppell - Allen.

In Region II
North Mesquite ran into a hot Belton team and got crunched 7-0, but Sasche rolled on defeating Lake Highlands 2-1 and will next face Tyler John Tyler.  Elsewhere, Skyline slipped past Garland 1-0 and will face A&M Consolidated in the next round.
