It's that time of year again! For soccer fans in the Dallas area it is the best week of the year.  Dallas Cup!  Sunday will mark the opening games of Dallas Cup XXXIII.

The big draw is of course the Super Group.  All the Super Group teams are in action on Sunday with three matches slated for inside FC Dallas Stadium.  At 1:30 Everton takes on Cortiba from Brazil.  Cortiba were one of the best squads in last year's tourney, but they were bounced out when they blew a 2-0 lead in the final minutes against Einracht Frankfurt.  It was a stunning result after Cortiba had completely dominated play for the first 80 minutes.  Everton will be looking to make a splash and are one of the main draws at the Dallas Cup this year.  They could be looking at a defeat in the opening game if they aren't ready to play though.

The 3:30 game in the stadium pits Paris St Germain against the Mexico U20 National Team.  This should be an intriguing match for sure.  The French giants are sure to send a quality squad while Mexico will surely have a huge crowd cheering them on.

The nightcap will showcase world powers Manchester United as they take the field against local boys FC Dallas.  Manchester United will be led by young studs William Keane and Jesse Lingard who have both been in fine form with the ManU reserves of late.  The FC Dallas side will not be quite as talented as the one that made a run to the semifinals last year.  Look for the EPLers to dazzle.

Teams to watch in the U17 bracket are favorites Tigres, Dallas Texans Academy and Chicago Fire Academy.

The under 15 age bracket looks to be loaded.  Foreign squads from Eintracht Frankfurt and Tigres lead the way.  Several talented American sides should provide stiff competition as well.  Five MLS Academy sides from the Chicago Fire, LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, San Jose Earthquakes and FC Dallas are in the strong field.

The U13 age is always a blast as you can take in some wonderful young talent getting one of their first tastes of bigtime soccer. The past few years has seen Southern California take the titles and SoCal returns in force once again with Nomads, FC Golden State, Pateadores, Arsenal, United FC and Aztecs all on hand.  We'll see if anyone can break the SoCal dominance at this age.
