It is that time of the year again.  College soccer season.  The local colleges all kick it off this weekend.

The SMU men look to post another successful season.  They open at Westcott Field on Saturday at 5:00 as they host Houston Baptist.  The SMU men have been picked 4th in the AAC preseason poll behind UConn, Louisville and South Florida.

The TCU womens soccer team heads to Wyoming for an opening weekend tournament.  TCU opens against Wyoming on Friday night before ending the weekend against Air Force on Sunday afternoon.  TCU is coming off their inaugural season in the Big 12 that saw them upset West Virginia and Texas in a run to the Big 12 Tournament Final.  With 11 members returning from last year expectations are on the rise in Fort Worth.

The SMU womens soccer team opens on Friday night as they host Louisiana Monroe at 7:00 at Wescott Field in Dallas.  This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on the soccer pitch.  ULM is coming off a tough 4-15-0 season last year.  SMU will travel to face Arkansas on Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville.  Last year SMU pounded Arkansas 4-0 in Dallas.  Arkansas will surely be looking for revenge this year as they return nine starters from last year's squad.

The UNT women open on the road at Texas Southern Friday night.  They'll return for their home opener on Sunday as they hose Houston Baptist in Denton at 1pm.  UNT face a daunting schedule this year that includes the likes of SMU, TCU, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Baylor and Oklahoma State. Ouch.
