Dallas Cup - Manchester City 4 AC Milan 0

Well it was not quite the match that everyone expected to open Dallas Cup XXX Super Group play.  It was expected to be a cracker and instead it fell with a thud as Manchester City thoroughly outclassed AC Milan 4-0 in a match that was not nearly as close as the 4-0 showed.  It could have been much, much worse.

AC Milan never seemed to want to come out and play.  They sat back from the start and allowed Man City possession almost anywhere they wanted.  Man City would make 10+ passes everytime they got ahold of the ball.  All the possession eventually paid off as a long ball easily got behind the AC Milan defense.  The keeper came out late allowing the #10 to chip him into the empty net.

The lead would hold up until halftime.  The 2nd half opened just like the first.  Manchester had the ball and AC Milan basically stood around and watched.  The Manchester possession seemed to lull AC Milan to sleep and then bang.  Another long ball got behind the Milan defense.  This time the Man City player was dragged down in the box for a penalty kick.  The #7 finished it perfectly.

Just two minutes later the #7 would strike again as he outraced the Milan defense and finished nicely for the 3-0 lead and game over.  After the two quick goals the match died off.  At one point Manchester City made 62 passes in a row before AC Milan could get ahold of the ball.  It was that lopsided a match.  Man City would score one more after that, but barely went forward anymore.

It was a terrible performance from such a famous side.  Hopefully, AC Milan can put on a better display the rest of the week.  Manchester City, on the other hand, looked very composed and definitely have a pair of forwards that will give anyone fits.
