Manchester United to face MLS All Stars July in Houston

Manchester United has announced a summer tour of the United States for this summer and of interest to Dallas area soccer fans is their match in Houston against the MLS All Stars on July 28th at Reliant Stadium. United will play friendlies against Celtic in Toronto, Kansas City Wizards and the Philadelphia Union prior to the MLS All Star game in Houston. While it is unclear which players will ultimately make an appearance for United with several players returning to the team fresh off World Cup duty, there will likely be a mix of young players like the team’s newest acquisition from Mexico, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, and veteran stars like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. The city of Houston hopes to use the All Star game as an audition for a potential World Cup venue in either 2018 or 2022 pending the success of the USA World Cup bid.
