Oscar Pareja continues to show he has the magic touch.  Sunday evening in Frisco he brought on Mauro Rosales with the match tied and half an hour to play.  Shortly thereafter, Rosales scored his first MLS goal floating home a perfectly placed free kick to provide the difference in an important FC Dallas win over Sporting Kansas City.

Sporting arrived in Frisco hot on the heels of FCD in the MLS Western Conference standings.  They showed their class in the opening thirty minutes as they went toe to toe with the home side in a back and forth affair.  With FC Dallas leader Mauro Diaz missing his 4th match in a row with injury, it was Fabian Castillo that provided the engine in the opening 45 minutes of play blasting down the left flank time and time again.  SKC simply could not stop the uber-talented winger.

The visitors grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute as a low corner kick zipped through the Dallas six and was headed home by Lawrence Olum.  FC Dallas would answer back before the halftime whistle though as Michael Barrios got on the end of a long diagonal ball finishing with class.

The second half opened with FC Dallas pushing for the winning goal.  After Rosales replaced Tesho Akindele the decisive moment would come.  After Maxi Urruti was taken down by Amadou Dia just outside the penalty box, Rosales stepped up to the ensuing free kick and buried it into the top left corner of the net, just like his teammate and countryman might've.

“He’s a creative player,” midfielder Kellyn Acosta said. “Both Mauros are, actually. He adds that dimension that we need. He has that final ball, and obviously you saw the goal. He adds that little spark that we need into the game and does a tremendous job off the bench.”

The three points leaves FC Dallas on top of the Western Conference standings and with the top record in the entire MLS so far.  FCD now hits the road for a pair of difficult road matches on opposite ends of North America as they head to Vancouver for next Saturday and then follow that with a trip to face the New York Red Bulls the following Friday.
