Midwestern State coach Doug Elder announced the signing of a transfer and five prep standouts to join the NCAA Division II soccer program in the fall of 2014.
"We are very happy with the commitment of a very strong class to carry on a tradition of great soccer at Midwestern State," Elder said. "This is a very talented group that will compete for time on the field this fall."
Call Casarez, a 6-4 junior defender, helped San Jacinto College to an NJCAA national semifinalist appearance and a 20-2 mark last fall finishing third in the final NSCAA national poll.  He showed great athleticism and versatility by scoring six goals while starting 19 games for the Ravens.
"Call is a tough as nails defender with great athleticism and aerial presence," Elder said. "We believe he has the capability to fight for a spot right away. We are very excited about his athleticism and having him for the next two seasons."
The Mustangs also added a group of five standout prep performers in goalkeeper Isaac Linnabary out of South Grand Prairie  High School, defender Alex Mullet out of Edmond North (Okla.) High School, forward Thomas Parides out of Jesuit College Prep School of Dallas, midfielder Paulo Sanchez of Little Elm High School and Grant Norris of Lake Highlands.
Linnabary is enjoying a stellar club career with the Solar Chelsea USSF Academy helping the team to a Developmental Academy League runner-up performance in 2013. The 6-footer earned the starting nod between the posts for the 2012 Dallas Cup.   Linnabury was the starting goalkeeper for his South Grand Prairie High squad as a freshman and sophomore earning his district's goalkeeper of the year honors in 2012.
"Isaac is a very instinctive and aggressive goalkeeper," Elder said. "We believe his best days are still in front of him. He has the ability to come in and have an immediate impact in the program."
Mullet is a four-year starter for the defending Oklahoma state champion Huskies of Edmond North High School. He is the reigning preseason defensive player of the year for the state's top-ranked side and was an all-conference first-team selection last season.  Mullet plays at the club level for the Oklahoma Football Club.
"Alex has all the qualities you look for in a big time defender," Elder said. "His athleticism gives him the versatility to play anywhere on the pitch. We believe his future is very bright at MSU."
Parides has shown his potential as part of the El Salvador World Cup U20 selection camp and is enjoying a solid club career with the Andromeda Academy. He tallied six goals in a 10-match in the USSF Developmental League (U18) in 2013 after finding the net 11 times in the same league in 2012.
"Thomas has proven he can score goals against top competition," Elder said. "His versatility and consistency make him a valuable asset to our program."
Sanchez helped FC Dallas Premier '96 to Region III Premier and National League championships in 2013 and was a four-year starter at Little Elm High School helping the team to a pair of playoff showings.
"Paulo comes from a very professional environment with the FC Dallas Club," Elder said. "We feel he can be threatening on goal from many different positions. He also has the work rate to go along with his attacking flair."
Joining Paulo is his FCD teammate Grant Norris who played for Lake Highlands HS winning District MVP and earning 2nd team All Area as well. Midwestern State advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the ninth time in 12 seasons falling in the regional finals last fall. The Mustangs finished the campaign at No. 13 in the final NSCAA Division II rankings with a 12-4-2 record.

Call Casarez transfer from San Jacinto Juco
Isaac Linnabary from South Grand Prairie and Solar
Alex Mullet from Edmond, Oklahoma and Oklahoma FC
Thomas Parides from Dallas Jesuit and Andromeda FC
Paolo Sanchez from Little Elm HS and FC Dallas 96
Grant Norris from Lake Highlands HS and FC Dallas 96
