Locals Make Choices on National Signing Day

National Signing Day 2009 is upon us and it is an exciting day for high school seniors as they confirm their college soccer choice for next fall. Several high profile recruits hail from the Dallas soccer scene and will sign letters of intent today. Several of the National Champion Andromeda boys will sign today including both Dillon Powers and Grant VanDeCasteele heading to Notre Dame. London Woodberry will be joining national champions Maryland. Matt Russo of Andromeda and Sewell Strifler of Dallas Texans are both signing with Dayton. Ben Hill of Dallas Texans and T.J. Nelson of North Texas Strikers are heading to SMU, while a pair of Dallas Texans, keeper Michael Murray and Tanner Petrick are going to conference rivals Tulsa. The girls were just as highly recruited as the boys as Dallas is well respected on the national soccer scene. Chelsea Geller of Dallas Texans is headed to Baylor, while teammate Catilin Mooney is off to Maryland. Alina Garciamendez-Rowold also of Texans is expected to sign with Stanford. Sting members Sophie Campise and Hannah Higgins are signing with Texas along with Dallas Texan Becka Rivera. Meanwhile, Kim Castleberry is off to rival Texas A&M.
