North Texas Teams Advance at Southern Regionals

North Texas teams fared well as usual as group play at the Southern Regionals in North Carolina wrapped up.  Every girls team entered from North Texas advanced from group play while all boys teams but one advanced.  Quarterfinal matches are on tap for tomorrow.

Under 19 boys -
Solar 89 boys looked to avenge last years disappointing showing and cruised through group play without giving up a goal.  They will face Cobb FC of Georgia in a semifinal match Tuesday.

Under 18 boys -
Defending national champions Andromeda 90 had no trouble blasting through group play with 3 wins. They'll face TNFC of Tennessee in the quarterfinals.  Solar 90 also won all 3 matches and will see Charlotte SC tomorrow.

Under 17 boys -
Dallas Texans 91 lost today to NUSA Jets of Alabama today, but still advanced as the 2nd place team in Group A.  They'll face Norcross Fury of Georgia in a quarterfinal. Andromeda 91 won all 3 group games and will play DSC from South Carolina.

Under 16 boys -
Solar 92 opened with a loss to Lonestar from South Texas, but rebounded to win their final 2 games and advance as the 2nd place squad.  In the quarterfinals they will play Edmond SC of Oklahoma.

Under 15 boys -
Dallas Texans will finish group play in the morning, but are in a good position to advance with a win or draw with Houston Texans.

Under 14 -
Solar Red 94 looks to be the only North Texas boys side that will not advance from group play as they droppped their first 2 matches and had to face group leaders Dallas Texans 94 today.    Dallas Texans look the favorites to win the group and face Kendall from Florida in a quarterfinal.

Under 19 girls -
With one more group game to play, Sting 89 will need to beat group leaders Tophat of Georgia to capture the group.  A draw might be enough to grab the wildcard berth though.

Under 18 girls -
Sting 90 won their group and will face fellow North Texas side D'Feeters 90 in the quarterfinals after D'Feeters finished 2nd in Gorup B.

Under 17 girls -
The Dallas sides flexed their muscle as all 3 sides advanced from group play as both Dallas Texans 91 and Sting 91 won their groups and FC Dallas 91 finished second to Dallas Texans in Group D.   Sting will face Stone Royal of Tennessee,  Dallas Texans play North Atlanta Elite while FC Dallas will match up with Lonestar 91.

Under 16 girls -
Polaris 92 and Sting 92 both won their groups to advance.  Sting will play Hurricane FC from Oklahoma while Polaris will face the other Hurricane FC entrant in quarterfinal play.

Under 15 girls -
All 3 Dallas sides advanced.  Sting 93 won all 3 matches and will play MSC Lakers form Louisiana tomorrow.  D;Feeters 93 grabbed 2nd in their group and play Brentwood Adidas in their quarterfinal.  FC Dallas grabbed a 1-0 win today to earn the right to play GSA Phoenix of Georgia tomorrow.

Under 14 girls -
All 3 teams from Dallas won their groups to advance to knockout play.   Dallas Texans 94 will play AHFC of South Texas tomorrow.  D'Feeters 94 will take the field against North Atlanta Elite while solar Red 94 face Brentwood Power from Tennessee.
