The North Texas womens soccer program is off to a flying start to the 2008 season currently sitting at 7-2-0 on the season. Sun Belt Conference play is just kicking off so the games will only get more important from here as the team tries to gain an NCAA Tournament berth. Last weekend North Texas notched a win in their opening Sun Belt Conference match as they won on the road at Louisiana Lafayette 3-1. Unfortunately, on Sunday they fell to Louisiana Monroe by a 3-2 score. Next up are home games with conference foes Florida Atlantic and Florida International this weekend. The main competition for the conference championship look to come from Denver and Western Kentucky. The team has also notched impressive wins at Baylor and over Oklahoma this season. The North Texas women are led offensively by Kelsey Perlman (5 goals) and Kendall Juett (3 goals, 3 assists) and have outscored their opponents this year a 19-9 count.
