Offside goal costs FC Dallas in Colorado

FC Dallas had hope heading into Colorado Saturday night. A stretch of solid play and a return trip to a place they had held a lead almost the whole game two weeks ago only to finish in a draw. That however changed quickly as Colorado was the dominant team running circles around FC Dallas the whole first half.
With the absence of Kenny Coooper, FC Dallas needed Jeff Cunningham to step up once again as he did last weekend. This time he was not up to the task and FC Dallas had all kinds of trouble keeping the ball and getting any attack.
The 2nd half saw FC Dallas get into the game a bit and create some chances going forward. Neither team was able to find the net though until the 79th minute when Kosuke Kimura made an overlapping run down the right side. Mehdi Ballouchy turned to play the ball in to Kimura, but hesitated. When he did play the ball Kimura was in an offside position, but the linesman kept the flag down. Kimura skipped in on goal where he shot over the top of Ray Burse into the roof of the net. Again Ray Burse bailed out on the shot as he has done several times this year. If he would just stand tall in the nets he would have made the save on Kimura.
The loss was a costly one for FC Dallas as they struggle to get back into the MLS playoff picture. Colorado was one of the teams they had to catch and losing the three points was huge.
