As expected FC Dallas went for some defensive help in the first round of the 2015 MLS Superdraft on Thursday as they grabbed Otis Earle with the #15 pick.  Earle is from London, England and played his college ball at UC Riverside in California.  He was widely considered the best left outside back available in the draft this year.

"It’s a dream come true," Earle said over the phone after his selection in Thursday's draft. "FC Dallas is a great team. I met with them during the Combine and really liked the coaching staff. "I got a good feel for what they want to do, how they want to play and I thought that was a team I could contribute to. I’m really thankful for the opportunity and just ready to get to work now."

With the departure of Jair Benitez FCD Coach Oscar Pareja was looking for depth at the position as well as a player that can come in and potentially be a future fixture at outside back for the team.

"We were lucky to be honest with you," said FC Dallas Technical Director Fernando Clavijo. "I thought he was going to go earlier. We’re pleased we got a position that we needed. We got an athlete that has a good background in the game and is going to help us get better."

FC Dallas has two more picks remaining in the draft as they select at #56 (3rd round) and #76 (4th round).  The club is expected to focus on more defensive depth and possibly grab a player that can fit into the central midfield.
