TCU Girls Close Season with Win

Saturday was Senior Day at TCU and it was the seniors that carried the day and the Frogs to a season ending 1-0 win over San Diego State. It was a quiet first half as neither team was able to break through and the match went scoreless into the second half. Early in the half senior Casey Glass got a clean look at goal. The crossbar denied her first attempt but the rebound came back and she headed it home for the winner. That was all TCU would need as senior goalkeeper Katy Buchanon and senior defenders Karissa Hill and Breanne Kaldheim closed out the shutout for the Frogs. TCU ends the season with a 6-8-4 record.

The win was bittersweet for the Horned Frogs, who just missed out on qualifying for the Mountain West Conference Tournament. TCU entered the day sitting in seventh place and were in need of a victory and a win by Air Force over New Mexico to setup a tiebreaker between the Lobos and Horned Frogs for the final qualifying spot. Unfortunately a 3-0 win by New Mexico dashed TCU's postseason hopes.
