The No.1 seeded SMU women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 5 seed Colorado College Friday evening in the first semifinal game of the 2006 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championships held in Dallas, Texas. With the loss, SMU falls to 16-4-1 while Colorado College improves to 15-4-1 and will play for the league tournament title Sunday afternoon.

Right from the opening whistle, the Mustangs came out flat and the Tigers took advantage of that. In fact, the Tigers scored twice in less than two minutes (6:38 mark; 7:50 mark). From that point on, SMU was forced to play catch up and could not match the Tigers' aggressive play. SMU got on the scoreboard at the 37:17 mark when sophomore Kirsten Moran took a rebounded ball off a corner kick and sent it into the net. Two more Tiger goals in the second half solidified the victory. The four goals allowed by SMU were the most allowed by the Mustangs all season.

SMU now plays the waiting game as the NCAA selections will be announced Monday afternoon.
