SMU set to host UCSB in NCAA Round 2

The #3 seeded SMU mens soccer team prepares to open NCAA Tournament play hosting the UC Santa Barbara men on Wednesday night in Dallas at 7pm. The Mustangs received a bye in the first round while UCSB had to overcome a scrappy San Diego State team to advance out of round 1.

SMU is coming off the Conference USA regular season and conference tournament championships. The Mustangs should have home field throughout the playoffs due to their #3 seeding. UCSB has played a difficult schedule and has quality wins over Michigan and Cal St Fullerton and a tight 1-0 road loss to national power Virginia.

The winner will advance to play the winner of the Old Dominion - North Carolina game also to be played Wednesday night at UNC. The 3rd round game will be either Friday or Staurday.
