A late Pablo Ricchetti goal salvaged a 1-1 draw for FC Dallas in Toronto today as the team claimed their first point of the 2009 season after dropping their first three matches.  Toronto FC started brightly and were rewarded in the 17th minute when Dwayne De Rosario headed home a long throw in from Adrian Serioux.  After 30 minutes or so FC Dallas finally got their legs under them and started getting into the match, but were unable to even the game before halftime.

The second half was a wide open affair which saw FC Dallas create two golden opportunities in the opening 10 minutes of play.   Andre Rocha somehow missed the net from close range and Kenny Cooper had his shot saved by Toronto rookie goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

Schellas Hyndmann introduced attackers Eric Avila and Jeff Cunningham to chase the tying goal and FC Dallas got the sought after goal in the 87th minute when a long Dax McCarty corner kick was played back across the box by Eric Avila where Pablo Ricchetti back-heeled the ball past Frei and into the net. The two teams meet again in Dallas next Sunday.
