FC Dallas and the Colorado Rapids pulled off a trade Monday swapping defenders.  FC Dallas gets Ugo Ihemelu while Colorado obtains Drew Moor, a 2nd round draft pick and allocation money in return.  FC Dallas has been searching for a right back all season and Ihemelu will give them the athleticism on the outside they crave.

"Ugo Ihemelu is a talented player with tremendous speed that will be a key member of our back line," stated FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman in a press release. "In my time here, we haven't had that natural right back we have needed and we believe Ugo will provide that for us moving forward. We would also like to thank Drew Moor for his service to this team the past four years and wish him well in Colorado."

Ugo Ihemelu is a former SMU player who played under Hyndman.  He was drafted by the LA Galaxy in the 2005 MLS Superdraft.  Ugo was traded to Colorado in 2007.

The draft pick was just one of a stockpile of picks FC Dallas has coming next year.  They still have two first round picks, a second rounder and two third round picks for 2010.
