Three from FC Dallas in squad for US games at Slovakia and Denmark

Three players from FC Dallas have been called up to the US National Team by Bob Bradley for friendlies against Slovakia and Denmark in the coming week.  Dax McCarty, Jeff Cunningham and Heath Pierce are with the team in Europe training currently.

Jeff Cunningham gets his first callup to the US National Team since 2005.  Cunningham had a huge season for FC Dallas taking the lead after Kenny Cooper left for Europe.  He won the Golden Boot in MLS as he led the league scoring 17 goals.

The 22 yr old Dax McCarty will be getting his first action with the national side.  Dax had a strong year in the central midfield for FC Dallas and really matured as the season progressed playing some wonderful soccerHeath Pierce has been in and out of the squad the last year or so and will be looking to make a big impression on Coach Bob Breadley.  Pierce has a chance to be included in the squad for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa next summer.

The US will play in Slovakia on Saturday followed by a midweek game in Denmark.  Both Slovakia and Denmark have qualified for World Cup 2010.
