Andromeda Red 98 boys and Dallas Texans Red 98 are the only two 98 boys teams from Dallas to win their opening two matches of Dallas Cup XXXI.  After all five Dallas sides swept the foreign competition on Sunday, they ran into stiffer competition as they faced off against domestic teams on Monday.

The three loses all came against California squads and were all tight one goal soccer matches.  Solar fell 1-0 in a very tight match against LA FC, a team that has to be considered a tournament favorite.    Dallas Texans South dropped a 3-2 decision to Aztecs FC at Richland College and FC Dallas 98 fell to Pateadores of California 2-1 in a wonderful game.  All three Dallas sides must win their Wednesday games and hope for some help to advance to quarterfinal play.

Andromeda Red 98 and Dallas Texans 98 are both sitting pretty after Monday's games.  Andromeda built upon their Sunday 2-0 win over a team from Costa Rica by defeating Carlsbad Lightning 2-1.  They'll only need a draw in their final group game Wednesday against KCFC.  The Texans are also in fine shape as they dispatched DeAnza Force of California 4-2.   They'll likely face off for the group title on Wednesday against a strong FC Cop side from New Jersey.
