With the MLS season fast approaching, FC Dallas is trying to firm up their roster for the season.  Today the team completed a trade with Philadelphia for midfielder Andrew Jacobson.  The young midfielder started 13 matches last year with the Union and should add good depth to the FC Dallas midfield that lost Dax McCarty and Atiba Harris from last year.

FC Dallas gave their 2nd round pick in the 2013 MLS Superdraft to Philadelphia. Jacobson graduated from California in 2008 and was drafted by DC United but decided to join Lorient of France's Ligue 1 instead.  In 2009 he returned to the US and rejoined DC United where he made 17 appearances.

“I’m very happy to have Andrew join FC Dallas,” said head coach Schellas Hyndman. “He’s a very good player, a center midfielder who will also go back in defense. He brings size to the team, but he’s also got very good soccer feet and might seem like a 5’10” player rather than his actual 6’2”. He comes from a great program under Kevin Grimes at Cal, and I see him contributing to this team immediately.”
