Defeating the same team three times in one season is not an easy thing, but Nolan didn't seem to have any trouble as they cruised to a 3-1 win over Plano Prestonwood for the TAPPS Division I state title Saturday.  Jeffrey Torda led the way notching all three goals for Nolan.

Jeffrey Torda notched all three of his goals in a 12 minute span of the first half where Nolan took complete control of the match.

"Zachary Phipps was working his butt off in the box and picked up the [penalty kick], and I was just able to finish it off," Torda said. "It was the same with the third goal. [Phipps] did all the hard work, the ball fell out and I just tapped it in."

The Vikings' defense handled the rest, neutralizing Prestonwood's top two players, Cole Missimo and George Beasley. Nolan was on its way to a shutout win until Missimo got loose and scored on a breakaway in the 78th minute.

"This season has been fantastic," Vikings coach Adam Clementson said. "It's finally come down to what we've wanted and what we've wanted to achieve, which is a state championship."
