FC Dallas defender George John on his way to EPLs Blackburn

All that is left is to cross the T's and dot the I's as it is apparent that FC Dallas star central defender George John is on his way to England to join Blackburn of the powerful English Premier League.  John has flown to his grandparents homeland of Greece to get a European passport which will allow him to meet the EPL requirement of gaining a British work permit.

This is going to hurt FC Dallas bigtime.  George John is their rock in the back and the player that lets Ugo Ihemelu cover ground while John covers and fills gaps.  Dallas has nobody to even remotely replace John and this will probably send their hopes of an MLS title down the tubes.

"All the paperwork with the MLS has been agreed, the player has traveled to Greece to get his passport, and hopefully he will be in the country either tonight or tomorrow," Blackburn manager Steve Kean said Tuesday. "We've been tracking him through a scout based in the USA, we have had a number of good reports, and I've seen him myself on a number of occasions."

George John will fill a void left by Phil Jones' departure for Manchester United in the offseason. "He is 6-foot-4, a commanding defender," Kean said of John. "He is quick, aggressive, and he has a really bright future."
