The SMU men bounced back from a disappointing weekend result and traveled to Tulsa beating their Conference USA rivals 2-1 on Wednesday night.  It was a must win conference match and SMU got the job done in difficult conditions.

Tulsa jumped out to an early lead in the 7th minute of play when Corey Albertson scored from close range.  The Mustangs would answer back scoring twice at the half hour mark.  In the 26th Arthur Ivo pounded a freekick off the post where Diogo de Almeida raced in to finish the rebound.  Only a couple of minutes later Juan Castillo made it 2-0 volleyed home another assist from Ivo.

The second half was a feisty one as three players were sent to the locker rooms.  Tulsa's Blaine Gonsalves and SMU's Ian Kalis were both shown second yellows and dismissed while Tulsa's Jake Dobkins saw straight red leaving the Hurricanes to finish with 9.

"It's always a difficult game with Tulsa.  Always a challenge," head coach Tim McClements said.  "Obviously, Tulsa is our biggest rival.  Coming up here and getting a win on the road after dropping one to UCF is exactly what we needed.  It was an incredibily exciting game; giving up a goal early and coming back.  With all the cards, there was a really exciting finish.  There were alot of close calls.  Quality came through in the end though and we got a really big conference road win."
